Administrative Data Analysis, Econometric Analysis, & Predictive Analytics

State and government agencies and educational, training, and workforce programs collect a plethora of data on the services they deliver and the individuals who receive those services. If utilized and analyzed properly, such data can produce an abundance of interesting and compelling information on the effectiveness of the programs and how best to serve the unemployed and other job seekers

Since its inception, the Heldrich Center has been dedicated to conducting projects that examine and analyze data that not only benefits job seekers, but also policymakers and workforce program operators. Some projects in this area include:

  • A partnership with the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development on a project funded by the U.S. Department of Labor to improve the quality and analysis of workforce data.
  • The development of a Consumer Report Card for the state of New Jersey that reports on the performance of the state’s workforce training providers and that provides users with information on each provider’s record for placing workers.
  • Calculation of the employment and wage outcomes for over 2,000 training programs as reported on New Jersey’s Consumer Report Card.
